Park Avenue has always been one of my go-to places, especially when it comes to shopping for formal wear. Walking into their stores is always been a satisfying experience, you end up finding what you’re looking for. And in most cases, a lot more. So when I heard that Park Avenue was soon launching its hundredth store in Connaught Place, Delhi, I knew I just had to be there. The experience turned out to be a notch above my expectation!
Built on the core values of Raymond Group in 1986, this homegrown Indian menswear brand with a global appeal drives itself forward with excellence and innovation. It’s also perfectly descriptive of their new store, which was inaugurated by Mr. Gautam Singhania, CMD, Raymond group. He addressed the large crowd which was eagerly waiting for the reveal. Mr. Ravi Shastri, the current head coach of Indian Cricket team. Mr.Sanjay Behl, CEO, Raymond Lifestyle Businesses also spoke at the event and congratulated the entire team, and the effort that had gone into making the event a success. Mr. Gaurav Mahajan, President, Raymond Apparel Ltd, Mr. Sharad Walia, Brand Director, Park Avenue, Mr. Nagendra Pratap Singh, Head of Retail Design & Events, Group Lifestyle, Raymond Ltd were present among many others. The event was hosted by Archana Vijaya, the renowned model and television presenter.
The fashion show that preluded the unveiling was nothing less than a showstopper, until the kabuki drop of course. The cheering crowd was a perfect background score for the striking store front with changing lights adding an abstract edge to the façade.
I walked into the store only to be spellbound by refined industrial space with its swanky, urban loft vibe. Yet, they with its Lexus floor and living room atmosphere, you feel comfortable and at ease within minutes of walking in. The grid wall showcased the best of the collection. It looked straight out of Pinterest or from a fashion blogger’s wall. The exhibits wall, the one with the Burst form, displayed additional looks. These were irresistible invitations to explore more of the store. Rolling rack fixtures, frame storefront as signage holder and interactive extension of the look wall are some of the things that you must look out for. You have to explore the cool changing rooms with leather curtains. Love those fine details.
Like The Merchandising Fixture, a scaffold fixture system adding a premium international feel is another highlight at the store. Right from focus lights to shadow playing, mirror pocket storage, ensemble display, dual entry and an invisible cash counter.
The store is undoubtedly, a one-stop-shop a fashion haven with personalized wardrobe solutions.
All of Park Avenue’s 100 stores have come a long way. From remarkable moments like launching women’s wear in 2007, casuals in 2011, men’s innerwear in 2012 and the stylish footwear launch last year, it’s been a one of a kind journey for each, with every single milestone they’ve reached. The 100th store is a perfect mash up of each of these milestones along with its fabulous lifestyle driven merchandising support. You have to see it to believe it at Connaught Place, Delhi.
